Directory of digital banking engagement platform vendors using AI

The AI FinTech Index holds 3 of them, each graded on the same 15 capability axes from public sources, with the artifact every grade was read from attached to the record.

No vendor pays for inclusion, placement or rating. Counts generated 2026-08-24 across 490 indexed vendors. What moved is in the change log.

The engagement layer is a long term architectural commitment rather than a point purchase, so the AI capability inside it should be weighed against how long you will be living with the platform underneath.

What the public record shows in this directory

The share of the 3 indexed vendors here whose public record answers each of the nine regulatory questions a financial institution diligence process works through, and where this directory ranks against the other 50 directories in the index on the same question, highest share first. A thin share means the public record is thin, not that a control is absent.

Backbase
Backbase is an Amsterdam banking software company founded in 2003 by Jouk Pleiter, selling an engagement layer that sits above a bank's existing core, payments, cards, risk and customer relationship systems rather than replacing them. In April 2026 it launched what it calls an AI native Banking OS, built on four layers: Nexus, a semantic layer giving employees and software agents one shared record of every customer, account, product and case; an orchestration layer running customer journeys, case routing and agent workflows; Sentinel, an authority layer that checks every action by a customer, employee or agent against bank policy before it executes and records a decision token; and an intelligence layer that feeds resolved cases and human overrides back into the models. The company acquired Kasisto in June 2026, bringing that firm's banking specific language models and agent platform into the operating system, having acquired the wealth technology firm Nucoro in 2023. Backbase reports revenue above 350 million dollars for 2025 and more than 120 financial institutions across 50 countries, including Navy Federal Credit Union, TD Bank, KeyBank, Standard Bank Group, Eurobank and Techcombank.

Crealogix
Crealogix is a Zurich digital banking and wealth engagement software company founded in 1996, serving more than 600 customers across 15 countries in retail, private, corporate and small business banking as well as wealth management. Its Digital Hub is a modular cloud platform that sits on the interaction layer above a bank's existing systems, letting institutions modernise client and adviser experience without replacing the core, with open interfaces, open banking support and the ability to add partner components. Its three named solutions are Crealogix Conversational AI, which combines models and automation with personalised customer communications and runs as a service with encrypted messaging and a full audit trail, a digital funding portal, and a lending origination hub. The company listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange in 2000 and was acquired in February 2024 by Vencora, the financial services software group within Constellation Software, in an all cash tender offer at 60 Swiss francs per share, after which it was delisted and continued to operate independently under chief executive Oliver Weber. It holds ISO 27001 certification alongside SOC 1 and SOC 2 reporting, and formed a partnership with the core banking provider Tuum in 2024. Named clients include LGT Vestra.

Temenos
Temenos is a Swiss banking software company founded in 1993, headquartered in Grand Lancy near Geneva and listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange, whose core, digital, payments, wealth and financial crime products serve more than 950 banks across retail, corporate, commercial, wealth and Islamic banking. It reported annual recurring revenue of 881 million dollars in the second quarter of 2026 and 316 customer go lives in 2025, and has been ranked the leading core banking provider by IBS Intelligence for twenty one consecutive years. Its model layer is embedded across existing products rather than sold separately: Temenos AI Agents, a family of Copilots beginning with Copilot for Core and extending to workbench, financial crime, payments and wealth, and Conversational Studio, a natural language environment for building digital banking journeys. The financial crime AI agent screens sanctions in real time and was extended to instant payments in 2026, and a corporate actions agent supports wealth operations through complex market events. The underlying investments are a banking knowledge graph, conversational interfaces, an agentic framework and a model context protocol implementation, running on Microsoft Azure AI and NVIDIA microservices. Temenos completed its acquisition of additiv on 17 July 2026, adding orchestration and mass affluent wealth reach.

Common questions

Is there a directory of digital banking engagement platform vendors using AI?

Yes. The AI FinTech Index lists 3 digital banking engagement platform vendors using AI, each graded on the same 15 capability axes from public sources, with the artifact every grade was read from attached to the record. No vendor pays for inclusion, placement or rating, no vendor is contacted before it is listed, and nothing sits behind a form. Counts generated 2026-08-24.

What counts as digital banking platforms in this directory?

Screened to the digital channel platform itself. Agents and personalisation engines that sit on top of one are held separately. The index holds 3 vendors meeting that screen, drawn from a wider Customer & Banking Agents category and from adjacent categories where the vendor belongs on the same shortlist. A vendor filed under a different category can still appear here, because a buyer building this shortlist does not sort by our filing.

What should a buyer check before shortlisting digital banking platforms vendors?

Start with what this segment does not publish. Across the 3 indexed vendors, the thinnest parts of the public record are liability and customer recourse at 0 percent, AI governance and bias testing at 0 percent, and regulatory status and licensure at 0 percent. A thin public record predicts the length of a diligence process rather than the absence of a control, so these are the questions to put in writing early. The engagement layer is a long term architectural commitment rather than a point purchase, so the AI capability inside it should be weighed against how long you will be living with the platform underneath.
