Narmi
Narmi sells a digital banking platform to community banks and credit unions, founded by two people who had run a community financial institution as its chief executive and technology chief. Its Narmi One suite covers consumer and business banking, account opening, instant payments over FedNow, fraud prevention, lending and a back office for staff, with integrations to cores including Corelation Keystone, Symitar, Fiserv DNA and Jack Henry Silverlake. Account opening results are published by name: Arrowhead Credit Union raised its completion rate from 40 to about 75 percent, and FOCUS Bank went live 62 days after kickoff.
Narmi AI runs inside that platform at no additional cost. Staff get an AI assistant in secure messages that summarizes, drafts and translates replies, AI built audiences for promotions, an AI search bar, and DecisionAssist, which turns identity verification data into plain language recommendations for each account opening review. Business customers can connect Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant to their accounts through a read only Model Context Protocol server. Staff facing features run on Anthropic's Claude through AWS Bedrock, and every agentic workflow waits for staff approval before it acts.
Customers include First Citizens' Federal Credit Union, Grasshopper Bank, Greater Alliance Federal Credit Union, Beacon Bank, Meridian Trust Federal Credit Union and FOCUS Bank.

Banking, account opening, payments and the staff back office all run without a model in the path. Narmi AI is a layer across them: drafting and translation in secure messages, promotion audiences, an AI search bar for staff, DecisionAssist in account opening review, and a read only connection for customers' own assistants. Switch it off and the platform still does its job.
Every agentic workflow suggests and acts only within defined boundaries, with staff approving each recommendation before any action and a full audit trail behind it. Autonomy is earned rather than granted: workflows gain room to act only as they prove accurate over time. On the customer side the assistant connection is read only and cannot start a transaction, and the institution decides which AI features are on.
DecisionAssist gives a plain language summary and an explainable, institution specific recommendation for every account opening review, and every agentic workflow keeps a full audit trail. Accuracy figures and a validation method are unpublished, though Narmi ties any added autonomy to accuracy proven over time.
Arrowhead Credit Union raised its account opening completion rate from 40 to about 75 percent after moving to Narmi, Beacon Bank cut fraudulent digital applicants from 55 percent to under 1 percent and admin review time by more than half, and FOCUS Bank went live 62 days after kickoff. These figures measure the account opening platform and its delivery, not Narmi AI.
The AI cases carry no measured outcome: First Citizens' Federal Credit Union uses the secure messages assistant to translate Portuguese and Spanish messages and reply in the member's language, and its staff describe the change in their own words, while Grasshopper Bank's chief technology officer speaks to the read only assistant connection.
Narmi uses only AI models whose providers contractually agree not to train on an institution's data, and staff facing features run on Anthropic's Claude through AWS Bedrock. Retention terms for prompts and outputs are not stated. The read only assistant connection keeps raw account credentials away from outside assistants, and the institution chooses which models its customers may connect.
The published privacy policy covers visitors to Narmi's own website. For the platform, Narmi states it meets Gramm Leach Bliley Act data sharing restrictions and encrypts all data at rest and in motion, without a data handling description, retention terms or a subprocessor list.
Every production environment goes through an annual SOC 2 assessment by an independent auditing firm, though the report type and auditor are not named. Narmi also runs a public responsible disclosure program with a 72 hour acknowledgment commitment and a researcher hall of fame.
Narmi holds no banking license; the institutions it serves do. Its compliance position is stated in terms of the rules it builds for, from Gramm Leach Bliley Act data sharing limits to the authentication guidance of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, which is product scope rather than supervisory standing.
DecisionAssist shapes account opening reviews from identity verification data, a step where uneven treatment of applicants would matter. Narmi's governance is stated as design principles, human approval at every step and explainable recommendations, with no fairness testing or demographic evaluation behind them.
Who bears the loss when an AI recommendation is wrong is not published. What exists sits before any harm: staff approve each recommendation before it is acted on, every workflow keeps a full audit trail, and the customer assistant connection cannot move money.
The staff facing AI is named down to the model and host, Anthropic's Claude through AWS Bedrock, though a subprocessor list is not published. For the read only connection, business customers bring the assistant of their choice, such as Claude or ChatGPT, under their own agreement with that provider.
Narmi is a certified Corelation Keystone partner and a Symitar VIP member, with integrations to the IBS and Horizon cores from FIS, Jack Henry Silverlake, Fiserv Premier, Fiserv DNA and COCC. Meridian Trust Federal Credit Union runs its account opening fully integrated with its Symitar core, and Alloy automates identity verification inside account opening at Create Credit Union. Public, admin and account opening application programming interfaces sit on an open developer portal.
Hosting regions, residency terms and any on premises option are not stated. The platform is delivered from the cloud with 99.9 percent uptime, real time monitoring and redundant storage, with Amazon Web Services among the third party services behind it and AWS Bedrock hosting the staff facing AI.
Narmi AI comes at no additional cost to institutions on the platform, a clear commitment for the AI layer. The platform itself carries no published price, tier or billing unit, and engagement starts with a demo request.
Community banks and credit unions are the named market, with dedicated material for consumer and business banking and a separate track for business customers through the read only assistant connection. Named customers run from Greater Alliance Federal Credit Union, with $239 million in assets, to Beacon Bank, a $23 billion community bank, alongside Grasshopper Bank's business banking, and Narmi runs at institutions with hundreds of billions in combined deposits.
What Changed
Material product, regulatory, evidence and commercial changes at Narmi, each verified against a live source and tagged to the capability axis it bears on. Funding rounds and awards are not product changes and are not logged.
Narmi published its first measured results for AI DecisionAssist, its account opening review agent that recommends a decision for staff to approve or override. Comparing applications reviewed with and without the tool at six institutions over their first six weeks live, median time to decision fell from about 8.5 hours to 4.4, hands on review time fell from 8 to 12 minutes to under 2, and 90% of decisions at all six now finish within three days.
