Tyfone
Tyfone sells nFinia, a digital banking platform for community banks and credit unions, with retail, business and youth banking, digital account opening and loan origination, instant payments and Skip a Pay. Its AI layer, Fathom, was unveiled with nFinia Reimagined on 26 August 2026. Account holders ask questions in plain language and get answers grounded in their institution's own content, query their accounts and spending, and move from the answer to an action such as moving money, stopping a check or pausing a card. Every money movement is pre loaded for the account holder to review and submit, so nothing moves without explicit consent.
Institutions run Fathom from a command center that scores uploaded content for relevance and answer coverage before it goes live and logs every prompt and answer. iTHINK Financial, a $2.3 billion credit union, is the first customer to launch it, expected this fall. The platform also layers AI powered fraud detection, biometrics and account takeover prevention into logins and transactions, with BioCatch for account takeover and Mitek's Check Fraud Defender for check images.
Tyfone bought ATTUNE on 1 September 2026, adding consumer and business account opening, deposit funding, and loan origination and servicing that also run alongside other cores and digital banking platforms. Its Instant Payment Xchange connects an institution's core to the FedNow Service. Metro Credit Union, O Bee Credit Union and Prestige Community Credit Union are among its 2026 selections. Tyfone is based in Portland, Oregon.

Fathom puts a conversational layer over nFinia, answering from the institution's content and the account holder's data and handing off to banking actions, and fraud detection uses AI on logins and transactions. Remove both and the digital banking, account opening and payments products still run, so the AI sits on top of a platform that stands without it.
Fathom is released but not yet live at any customer. By design it cannot move money on its own: when an account holder asks to send funds, it opens the payment feature pre loaded and waits for the account holder to review, acknowledge and submit. Every prompt, answer and rating is logged, searchable and exportable, content is scored before it goes live, and multifactor authentication, fraud detection and approval workflows stay under the institution's control.
Accuracy figures and a validation report for the underlying model are not published. Content is scored for relevance and answer coverage before it goes live, answers are grounded in the institution's own content, and every prompt, answer and thumbs up or down is logged for review.
Performance figures are not yet attached to the named customers, and Fathom's first live launch is still ahead. Executives at ELGA Credit Union, Emprise Bank, OUCU Financial and Pioneer Federal Credit Union speak for the platform by name, and iTHINK Financial's chief executive explains why it chose Fathom. Metro Credit Union, O Bee Credit Union, Prestige Community Credit Union and iTHINK Financial selected nFinia in 2026.
Account holder data never trains another institution's model, and data is isolated by institution, a direct answer to whether one customer's data improves a competitor's AI. Retention terms for prompts and answers, and the model hosting arrangement behind Fathom, are not set out.
Retention periods, subprocessors and a privacy notice for the platform are not set out. Product statements carry the privacy story instead: data is isolated by institution, account holder data never leaves the policies an institution configures, and personal and financial data is tokenized and encrypted in storage and transit.
The audit firm and report access are not described. SOC 2 Type 2 and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard certification are stated, aligned to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and checked by independent auditors every year, and Fathom runs in the same audited environment.
Tyfone supplies software to licensed institutions and states no regulatory position of its own. Fathom is presented as running inside the annually audited environment institutions already use, adding no new compliance framework.
Fairness or bias testing of Fathom's answers and recommendations is not published. What exists is a governance frame: Fathom is mapped to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) AI Risk Management Framework 1.0, and institutions govern every response through content controls, query monitoring and compliance oversight in a command center.
A guarantee, indemnity or correction commitment behind an answer is absent. Every Fathom prompt and answer is logged, searchable and exportable, and money movement needs the account holder's own submission, so an institution can trace and challenge what the AI said or proposed.
The language model behind Fathom and its hosting provider go unnamed. Tyfone describes the design instead: answers are grounded in the institution's content and account data rather than a public model connected to aggregators, and the layer runs inside Tyfone's own audited infrastructure.
The fraud layer names its suppliers, BioCatch for account takeover protection and Mitek, whose Check Fraud Defender applies machine learning to check images and draws on a consortium of participating institutions.
Core banking connections and public developer documentation are not named. Instant Payment Xchange connects to any core through standard web service interfaces, the Financial Data Exchange 5.2 standard or an institution's digital banking and electronic funds transfer connectors.
Partner integrations inside digital banking are named: Array's financial security tools and AI chat and Eltropy's authenticated text, chat, co browse and video support since September 2026, BioCatch account takeover protection and Mitek's Check Fraud Defender for check images.
The cloud provider and any on premises option go unnamed. The platform runs on auto scaled cloud infrastructure in the United States, protected against distributed denial of service attacks, with weekly vulnerability scans from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and automatic weekly patching.
Tyfone sells through a demo request and publishes no price or tier. Fathom adds daily query caps, institution wide token budgets and rate limits, which make usage predictable but say nothing about what the platform or the AI layer costs.
Community banks and credit unions are the buyers, with retail, business and youth banking each given their own product material, alongside digital account opening, loan origination and payment products. Material is organized by product rather than by institution type.
