Prima Solutions
Prima Solutions sells policy and claims administration software to French insurers, mutual insurers, provident institutions, bancassurers, wholesale brokers and delegated managers. Prima P&C runs property and casualty products from quote to settlement, with the French inter insurer claims conventions and DARVA exchanges built in, and Prima L&H covers individual and group health, provident and borrower insurance down to commissions, payment schedules and third party payment cards. Business teams configure products, rates and rules without code.
Around the two cores sit Prima Distribution, a library of preconfigured components for building quote and subscription journeys; Prima Selfcare, a mobile first portal where policyholders sign, pay, cancel in three clicks and, on fleet policies, add or remove vehicles themselves; Prima Pilot, a handler workstation that pulls tasks from any policy, claims or reinsurance system and distributes them automatically; and Prima Analytics, which cleans portfolio data and simulates rates.
The AI comes mostly from partners wired into those products. docTeller reads, classifies and extracts incoming documents in Prima P&C and automates changes such as new bank details or a new address. Tolk's Genii assistant answers policyholders in Selfcare and in quote journeys, and answers handlers in 26 languages from their own company's documentation inside Prima P&C. Prima lists further agent use cases, from document fraud detection to dynamic pricing and incoming email handling, and says its own teams are building models of their own.
Founded in 2000 and based in Paris, Prima Solutions is part of Groupe TSS and reports more than 40 clients in more than 11 countries. Allianz France, SMACL Assurances and the MAIF group, La Mutuelle des Motards, La Médicale, Willis Towers Watson, Sanlam Allianz and, since October 2026, Le Finistère Assurance are among the customers it names. Clients run on dedicated private clouds hosted in France or on their own premises, and AFNOR Certification certified the company to ISO 27001 in May 2026.

Prima's products are configured administration systems: policy, claims, commissions, billing and distribution run on rules and workflows that business teams set. The AI arrives as bricks inside them, docTeller for document reading in Prima P&C and Tolk's Genii assistant for policyholders and handlers, beside a partner marketplace that adds tools such as LittleJohn, an AI workspace for brokers, and Aïkan for process automation. Without those bricks the platforms still quote, issue, bill and settle; the models take routine reading and answering off handlers rather than run the business.
Prima positions its agents as help for handlers, taking routine reading and answering so staff can spend their time on complex cases. Genii answers policyholders before and after the sale without a handler, and docTeller carries changes such as new bank details from a document into the policy.
Prima Pilot routes and prioritizes work between handlers and lets managers supervise and validate it, but Prima does not say which AI outputs a person checks, at what point a document goes to a handler, or how a policyholder reaches a person when Genii gets an answer wrong.
docTeller's extraction, by Prima's account, has proven reliable on millions of documents in production, but no accuracy, error or false positive rate is given for extraction, classification or fraud flags. Handlers see the result of a document read or an assistant answer without a published explanation of how it was reached, and there is no validation method or supervisory mapping for the AI in Prima's platforms.
Large French mutuals and insurers run on Prima. The MAIF group handles fleet claims for SMACL Assurances and MAIF in a single Prima P&C instance with separated portfolios, delivered through a seven month upgrade, and Le Finistère Assurance, which handles more than 15,000 claims a year, chose Prima P&C Claims and Prima Pilot in October 2026.
The performance figures come without names: Prima says its claims journeys raise the files each handler processes by 60 percent, and an unnamed life and non life insurer cut its motor loss ratio by 4 to 5 points after decisions taken in Prima Analytics. UGIP Assurances, a wholesale broker, says it launched an individual health product in under two months. None of these figures concerns the AI features.
Each client gets its own dedicated private cloud or an on premises installation, so one insurer's portfolio never shares an environment with another's, and the MAIF group runs two entities in one instance with separated portfolios and data flows. The AI comes from partners, and Prima does not say which policyholder documents or questions reach docTeller or Tolk, how long those partners keep them, or whether they improve models used by other insurers. Its own AI work is pitched as sovereign and secure without saying where those models run.
Prima L&H carries medical data on health and provident policyholders, and every host Prima uses holds the French health data hosting certification (HDS). Prima says it applies the GDPR in product design and development and runs a data protection officer mailbox, with a named privacy officer for its Canadian subsidiary. Its privacy policy, last updated in September 2026, covers website visitors only, and a data processing agreement, retention schedule or subprocessor list for the service is not public.
AFNOR Certification certified Prima Solutions to ISO 27001 in May 2026 after an external audit of a company wide information security management system, and Prima also reports a SOC 2 Type 2 audit. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, encryption keys are tightly controlled, client access uses strong passwords and two factor authentication, platforms are monitored around the clock, and Snyk is its partner for application security. Risk analysis follows the EBIOS RM method of ANSSI, the French cybersecurity agency. The certificate and the SOC 2 report are not posted for download, and the SOC 2 auditor goes unnamed.
As a software supplier, Prima states no regulatory status of its own, and its AI features are not mapped to the EU AI Act. It aligns its encryption key controls and cloud services with the expectations of the ACPR, the French insurance supervisor, and builds regulatory changes into the product, from three click cancellation to the reform of complementary social protection for public servants. Its claims module is approved by DARVA for motor, liability and property damage exchanges between French insurers, including Sinapps appraisals.
Most of Prima's AI reads documents and answers questions, which keeps it away from decisions about who gets cover. A recommendation and scoring engine in Prima P&C does match offers to customer profiles, and Prima L&H holds health data, so the platforms shape decisions about people. Prima publishes an ethics and CSR charter and speaks of AI that preserves trust, but no responsible AI policy, fairness testing or governance process for the models in its platforms.
When docTeller misreads a document or Genii gives a policyholder a wrong answer, nothing Prima publishes says who answers for it, and contract terms for the service are not public. Its legal disclaimer covers the accuracy of its own website, not the software it sells.
The partners whose AI runs inside the platforms are named: docTeller for document reading and Tolk for the Genii assistant, with LittleJohn, Aïkan, Certificall, Linkbycar and Finovox among the other partner tools Prima offers. The models those partners use, including any large language model behind Genii, go unnamed, and so do the HDS certified hosts that run client platforms.
As a policy and claims administration core, Prima P&C is the system of record itself, and its claims module also connects to other policy systems through web services and can read several policy databases at once. Claims exchanges are approved by DARVA, including Sinapps for property damage appraisals.
Prima Pilot consolidates tasks from Prima P&C, Prima L&H or any other policy, claims or reinsurance system and connects to document management, and Selfcare reaches every Prima platform through an API gateway. EDICourtage, DARVA, Linkbycar for vehicle data and Snyk for application security sit among the named technology partners. docTeller was connected to Prima P&C through its API in a few hours, and Prima Analytics reads from any back office, in house systems included, through a replicated database.
Prima offers both models. Its managed cloud gives each client a dedicated private environment hosted in France and replicated across several French data centers, with multi country clients hosted close to where they operate. Insurers that want their own infrastructure can install on premises instead, as Le Finistère Assurance did with Prima P&C Claims and Prima Pilot in October 2026. The architecture runs on public or private clouds, with automated deployments and updates.
Sales run on quote after a demo, and no price list, plan or pricing basis is public for Prima's cloud platforms or its on premises installations.
Insurers, mutual insurers, provident institutions, bancassurers, wholesale and independent brokers and delegated managers all buy from Prima, and one platform can run direct and delegated business side by side. Prima P&C covers personal, business and affinity lines, including motor fleets, home, liability and usage based insurance, while Prima L&H covers individual and group health, provident and borrower insurance, with multi currency, multilingual handling for expatriate cover.
France is the center of gravity, with its claims conventions, DARVA exchanges and rule changes such as three click cancellation built into the product, and Prima reports clients in more than 11 countries.
