Experian Software Solutions
Experian Software Solutions is the business inside Experian that sells credit decisioning software to lenders, separate from the credit bureau data Experian is best known for. PowerCurve is its decision engine for customer acquisition, customer management and collections, where risk teams design and test the strategies that approve applications, set limits and route delinquent accounts. Ascend Intelligence Services builds and retrains credit models, and Experian Assistant for Model Risk Management, powered by ValidMind, automates model documentation aligned with SR 11-7 and SS1/23. In June 2026 Experian announced the Agent Operating System, an agentic layer inside the Ascend Platform with Experian agents for fraud, identity, credit risk and operations, ServiceNow as its first partner, and early adopter access later in 2026.
Experian plc is listed in London and based in Dublin, with revenue of $8.4 billion in fiscal 2026. In Malaysia, Experian Information Services, formerly RAM Credit Information, is an accredited credit reporting agency and sells PowerCurve Customer Acquisition as a cloud service priced per feature. UK G-Cloud 14 listings publish prices, from £4,200 per license for PowerCurve Customer Acquisition and £60,000 per license a year for Ascend Intelligence Services.

PowerCurve is a strategy engine, and a risk team can run it on rules and scorecards alone, so the decision platform works without machine learning. Models drive the analytics around it. Ascend Intelligence Services builds credit models with linear, gradient boosted, random forest and neural network techniques, retrains them periodically, and optimizes credit policy rules and credit limit increase strategies.
The Ascend Platform adds generative AI for moving between applications, explainable model creation, and AI fraud and identity analytics. The Agent Operating System, announced in June 2026, puts purpose built agents for fraud, identity, credit risk and operations into lending workflows.
Decisions run on strategies the lender designs and tests in PowerCurve, so approvals, limits and collections treatments follow rules the institution sets. For the Agent Operating System, Experian describes identity and access controls, compliance guardrails, monitoring and human in the loop validation for complex decisions and high impact outcomes.
Group AI policy restricts autonomous decision making in sensitive areas without proportional human oversight and requires appropriate oversight for higher risk uses. Experian does not say at what point an agent hands a case to a person, or how a declined application is reviewed.
Experian Assistant for Model Risk Management, launched in July 2025 and powered by ValidMind, generates model documentation from templates built for the Federal Reserve's SR 11-7 and the Prudential Regulation Authority's SS1/23. Independent validators test models and record challenges on the same platform, and documentation, approvals and audit trails sit in one repository with performance monitoring alerts.
The Ascend Platform adds a model registry, automated validation, explainability, fairness testing and drift detection. Chartis Research named Experian the winner for model risk management environment in its Quantitative Analytics50 2026 report. A claim that validation time falls by up to 70 percent comes without a method.
Revenue at Experian plc reached $8.4 billion in fiscal 2026, nearly $2 billion of it from new and scaling products. The Ascend Platform served more than 1,500 clients globally at its 2024 relaunch, with 14 million credit reports processed a day. Few named customers come with figures. Lendr, a small business lender, says the platform helped it double its business in a year, and MoneyPlace, an Australian consumer lender, is cited on the Malaysian PowerCurve page.
HCLTech says PowerCurve implementations it ran for unnamed lenders in Europe and Asia Pacific cut loan approval from several days to two hours. Metrobank Card Corporation in the Philippines chose PowerCurve for acquisition and collections in 2014.
Privacy is one of Experian's responsible AI principles, along with keeping its data from unauthorized people, and its Global AI Policy covers machine learning, generative AI and autonomous agents. Experian does not say whether a lender's application and performance data trains models used for other lenders, or how client data and Experian bureau data are kept apart in the Ascend sandbox.
Experian Assistant can run as a Python library on Experian's private cloud inside a bank's own modeling environment, which keeps that bank's models and data there. No retention terms are given for client data in the decisioning services.
Experian Malaysia's statutory notification under section 23 of the Credit Reporting Agencies Act 2010 lists the personal data it holds and where it comes from. The sources include CCRIS and the DCHEQS dishonored check data from Bank Negara Malaysia, along with banks, insurers and licensed moneylenders. Reports go only to parties a consumer has consented to, and consumers can access, correct and limit processing through a named support office in Kuala Lumpur.
For UK public sector buyers, PowerCurve and Ascend data is stored and processed in the United Kingdom. The terms under which Experian processes a lender's own applicant data in PowerCurve are not public, and there is no subprocessor list.
Experian Malaysia became the first credit reporting agency in the country certified to ISO 27001, in January 2017, moved to the 2022 edition in 2024, and links its certificate from its site. The UK public sector listings for PowerCurve Customer Acquisition and Ascend Intelligence Services carry ISO 27001 certification through DNV, Cyber Essentials Plus and PCI Data Security Standard compliance assessed by Trustwave, with no Cloud Security Alliance STAR entry.
How far each certificate covers the decisioning software is not spelled out. There is no trust portal or SOC report for PowerCurve or the Ascend Platform, which comes with encryption, access controls and threat detection.
Experian Information Services (Malaysia) is accredited as a credit reporting agency under the Credit Reporting Agencies Act 2010, which governs its bureau business rather than the software it licenses. For PowerCurve and the Ascend Platform, Experian claims no supervisory status of its own. Its model risk tools are built around customers' obligations, with templates for SR 11-7 and SS1/23, and its AI principles follow NIST's characteristics of trustworthy AI.
Systems are tested for unwanted bias, problems are corrected quickly, and affected people can question or appeal outcomes, according to Experian's responsible AI principles. A Global AI Risk Council reports to senior leadership, the Executive Risk Management Committee and the board, and a Global AI Policy covers everything from machine learning to autonomous agents. The Ascend Platform sells fairness testing to lenders as part of model governance. Experian gives no method, metric or result for bias testing of its own credit models.
Decisions built in PowerCurve and Ascend leave audit trails, and the model risk tools keep documentation, approvals and validator challenges in one repository, so a lender can show how a model and a strategy were approved. Experian's principles say affected individuals can question or appeal outcomes, and Experian Malaysia accepts requests to correct credit file data as a credit reporting agency. That route covers the bureau record rather than a lender's decision made in the software. Contract terms covering errors in Experian's decisioning products are private.
ValidMind is named as the technology behind Experian Assistant for Model Risk Management, and ServiceNow as the first partner whose agents run inside the Agent Operating System. Experian names no provider for the generative AI in the Ascend Platform or for the language models behind its agents, and keeps no public subprocessor list for the decisioning services. The UK listings place data storage in the United Kingdom without naming a hosting provider.
PowerCurve combines Experian credit, fraud and KYC data with a lender's own data at the point of application, and connects to lender systems through APIs, with Experian Malaysia saying a lender can be running within days. The Agent Operating System connects to ServiceNow so its agents can use Experian data and decisioning inside ServiceNow workflows, and Experian Assistant can link to outside governance tools. Specific core banking or loan origination systems are not named for PowerCurve.
PowerCurve Customer Acquisition is sold in Malaysia as a cloud native service with automated updates. Experian's UK listings place data storage and processing in the United Kingdom, with one service on private cloud and one on public cloud. Experian Assistant can be used in the hosted Ascend sandbox or as a Python library managed on Experian's private cloud within a bank's modeling environment. The enhanced Ascend Platform was available in North America, Brazil and the UK in 2024, and Experian does not mention an on premises option for PowerCurve.
Experian's UK G-Cloud 14 listings price Decision Management Solutions with PowerCurve Customer Acquisition at £4,200 per license and cloud analytics with Ascend Intelligence Services at £60,000 per license a year. In Malaysia, PowerCurve Customer Acquisition is sold on pay per feature pricing with low upfront cost, without published figures. The Agent Operating System, Experian Assistant and the wider Ascend Platform are priced by quote.
Banks, credit unions, consumer and small business lenders, card issuers and fintechs buy Experian's decisioning software, and it carries separate material for acquisition, customer management, collections, fraud and identity, and SME onboarding. In Malaysia the same entity sells credit reports, scoring, eKYC, trade bureau data and PowerCurve, so a lender can buy bureau data and decisioning from one supplier. The Agent Operating System is planned for more than 2,300 client solutions globally after early adopters. Experian operates in more than 30 countries.
